Seeking Part-Time Psychometrician to conduct various assessments under supervision utilizing the following assessments: WAIS-IV, WISC-IV, WMS-IV, WIAT-III, MMPI and mental status examination.  This position consists of administering evaluations on a wide variety of children (at least age 6), adolescents, and adults suffering from various mental illnesses that run the gamut of the DSM (from adjustment disorders to psychotic disorders).  Learning disability evaluations, mental status exams, intelligence testing, personality testing, and memory assessments are conducted on a regular basis. 

This is an excellent opportunity for the doctoral student who is looking to gain / sharpen his or her testing and assessment skills or or the postdoc looking for supervision toward licensure. 

Must possess as least a Master’s Degree in psychology that includes relevant courswork in psychological assessment and testing.  Must possess laptop and USB drive and be willing to provide quality work under supervision.  Must be available between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at a minimum of 2 days per week (a minimum of 6 to 15 hours per week).

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding This Position

Could you provide full-time work? 

No. Although we may have up to 30 hours of face-to-face evaluations (not including report writing time) in any given week, this work is split among two evaluators, giving at most 10 to 15 hours weekly to one individual.

What is the pay?

This position is paid via piecework so that you receive “x” amount of dollars per evaluation, which roughly comes out to $25 – $30 per hour (face-to-face time).

Will you hire a licensed psychologist?

No.  The individual conducting these evaluations must be unlicensed and willing to work under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.

Will you hire a Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist?

No.  This position is only appropriate for those who have training in psychological testing instruments.  Thus, it is perfect for either the Psy.D./Ph.D. student in clinical psychology, someone who has a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, or is working toward licensure with a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in hand. Other possibilities are someone who may be ABD and looking for extra income while completeing a dissertation.

Will you hire me as an independent contractor?

No.  In order for someone to work as an independent contractor, the individual must possess a license to practice his or her craft independently.  This position seeks only an unlicensed individual with the prerequisite minimum education and training listed above.  Therefore, she or he must be employed and not hired as a contractor.

Can I work nights and weekends?

No.  These evaluations are conducted during the daytime from the hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is only on rare occassions that an evaluee is scheduled for an evening or weekend appointment.
